12. Can I change my plan or wireless extras services options?

A: Certainly. If you are interested in changing plans or your wireless extras service options, be sure to contact us 7 days prior to month end to have a plan change made effective for the first of the following month.

The UMB thread made me aware of CityFone and it seems a reasonable competitor to SpeakOut, though I guess it's strictly monthly? I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing, and/or what benefits there are to staying with SpeakOut.

The CityFone $30 Individual Plan is comparable to SpeakOut's $30 plan, the former gives you 200min daytime instead of 300min, but adds UL incoming and E/W. I would think for most people that would be a better combination (it would for me).

What SpeakOut offers is dropping back to BTM (by the minute) on a slow month. Which if you made no calls would cost only $1.25 from SpeakOut but $15 (cheapest plan) from CityFone? Assuming you can switch plans every month if you want. Our SpeakOut phone often sits unused for months at a time, which is why their $25 refills for 365 days are also a bonus.

Finally, on the high end, CityFone's $45 plan includes 500MB. 1c/MB extra so am I right that plan with 1GB would be $50, 3GB=$70, 6GB=$100? I'm paying Telus $81 for that with 6GB, CF, and a Fav10 but incoming isn't free. Most months I don't go over 3GB.
