thank you iamdrumming for your reply yes speakout just worked well except for txt overseas.

I used 3 different phone and my friend never received any - 2 gsm phones and the other unlocked 7-11 phone.

I spoke to rogers and they are charging me $7 for call display only phone numbers will show and a mini voice mail. just today was the firest day the person told me about the mini voice mail allows only 3 messages, will be kept for 3 days and not longer than 3 mins.

So i just took the package. had not choice. and have int' txt only as a paid use service.

Yes many speakout member were kind to tell me how their txt worked but unfortunately mine did not work.

Morevover when i was overseas i was impressed with the text msg which i used to get from my husband who is a rogers client. So i decided to make the switch.

That's too bad. I regularly text overseas with no problems. Maybe it was your phone(s) and not the service that wasn't correctly sending out the texts.

As far as "avoiding" the call display charges, I would ask Rogers, since you are a direct customer of theirs now.

I liked my speakout phone and the minutes etc… however i could not send any text overseas even thought my cell phone 7-11 phone which i unlocked it as well as with my sony gsm phone.

I called speakout so many times but no luck. I not only sent a number of text overseas but had to keep calling my friend to see if she received it and then our calls would go over 1-2 hours.

So i had to give up that phone and service. just becos of not being able to txt internationally.

I do not use my cell phone often. But now will do so as we are getting rid of our land line.

Anyway now i have switched to rogers and they charge me $7 apart from the other charges of a basic family plan i have is there a way to avoid this call display charges anyone know ?
