I was away for 7 months and came back 2 weeks after the minutes expired. I think the # is still active, but I was hoping to recover the minutes, there were close to $100 worth because I hardly used any before I left the country. Too bad. :yell:

According to "the rules", your unused balance is lost, which is unfortunate. However, since the amount is quite significant, it may be worth your while sending an "appeal" to Speakout. Explain your story, your travel period, maybe include copies of your airline boarding passes, have them check your account for no activity while you were away, etc. Be nice, and ask if there is any way to reinstate any or all of your lost time, just this once, pretty please. They don't have to reinstate them... but they might.

My son had a similar experience with his Rogers (!) pay-as-you-go phone. He missed the top-up deadline due to unavoidable circumstances, and thought his balance was gone. But, he called them up, politely explained his story, begged for forgiveness, and voila! they restored his balance.

Once they are expired, the airtime minutes are gone for good. Also, you did not say how long they have been expired (or how long you were out of the country), but just make sure the sim card itself was not deactivated as well.
