I put my number in and everything goes dead for a while then eventually I get dumped to dial tone.
There are several local lower mainland numbers at this link for Rogers but nothing for Victoria here. The numbers are all either 604xxx2222 or 778xxx2222 with xxx being a "local" prefix to your area of Greater Vancouver. Try the call using the same area code and 3 digit sequence as your phone -- and or try one of the numbers from the link.

My voice mail actually uses a Calgary (area code 403) number because it is an area code 204 (Manitoba) phone. To get my mail, I have to dial 1 403 978 9990 whether from a phone or from my SO phone by holding the 1 key. I'll post any toll free numbers I find (right after I program them into my phone )

I had to use a Vancouver (area Code 604) number when I first got the phone with a local Victoria area code 250 number. I had a bit of trouble setting up my voice mail when I changed area code. So I know the system is regional.

I don't have a toll free number for either the prairies or BC -- will post one here if I find it.

Edit: here are some more numbers -- but no toll free except the one that doesn't work in BC.

BTW FAQ 15a has the Vancouver number to call. It is 604-762-9993

Thanks, I have tried that and get noware, rogers just cuts my call off right after I enter my SO number and hit # sign. :frown:
I do not know if that is due to location or what, I am in BC, Vancouver and can not set up my SO VM via land line...........:???:

You wouldn't get it if I was, just as you wouldn't get it if I wasn't.

In any case, iamdrumming is correct. You only get charged to retrieve VM and only when you do it from a SO phone. (If you use a landline there's no charge.)
