Maybe they'll give this site back-dated referral money, to be split evenly between all the regular visitors... one can only hope.

I wish that the referral code could be obtained and entered online vs. calling 611. Also, if you follow the above instructions you'll find out that "*611" doesn't connect to anything. You have to dial 611 without the star.

Does anyone know how new your friend's account has to be for the code to work? i.e. Can you claim you were referred after 7 days of activation?

Call them and tell them you only found out about the bonus today. Who knows, you may get lucky.

Thanks,

Just bought a phone today (March 2). Could someone send me a referral code, please?

Hi again,

Someone kindly emailed me a code to use! Now I've got a code myself and it's my turn to pay forward. If you need a code, please email me.

Edit by admin: The rules on this site are that people can create posts to ask for referrals, but are not allowed to create posts offering referrals. Please post all subsequent requests for referrals as new topics in this forum.

Thanks.

Some details about the referral bonus from the referrer point of view that I didn't notice before (maybe they're new):

- You can generate up to 3 referral codes per month
- You can have 12 bonus redemptions per year

This is from: http://speakout7eleven.ca/asse....._febSm.jpg

Now, I haven't actually sent any referral codes yet, but maybe I should start!

Note for anybody reading this: remember that all requests for referrals should be posted as new topics in the referral forum.

Do you have to generate a new code if a person uses your referral code or can you refer multiple people using the same code until it expires in 15 days?

How long does it take for them to credit you the $10 after you refer a person?

That image I linked to should answer your first question: a code can only be used once.

I don't know the answer to your second question.

I guess that means you have to wait until you get credited before you know for sure that your code has been used. That's inconvenient if the person you've referred doesn't use the code, though you think (s)he did. Also, if you assume they didn't use it (but they did) and you give the code to someone else, the new person wouldn't be able to use it.

Question regarding this. is this referral code can also be used when buying on promotions like the free phone?

Yes. The promotion is valid as long as you add a minimum of $25 of airtime.

This means that existing customers can refer up to 12 people each in a year (using a different code each time).

I just phoned to get a pay it forward code (to pass along to someone else) and they said I have to have a min $25 on my phone (I am down to a couple of bucks atm).

The "someone else" is me, I got a new free phone through the latest free phone promo and wanted to get the $10 credit twice if possible.

The ad for Pay it Forward states you have to have a credit balance, not a min balance. Do you think the CSM confused this with the min $25 air credit you need to use in order to redeem the code?

New to this site and have found the information here very useful. I purchased two new SO phones on the current promo and thought I'd add my $0.02 to this thread.

A minimum $25 balance is not required to get a referral code. You can ask for one as soon as the phone is activated (which will give you a $5.00 balance).

As for applying a referral code, you do need a $25 minimum balance.

I purchased 2 phones and was able to be the "referrer" and the "referree" for each phone. Thus each phone was credited with an extra $20.

how were you able to be the referrer and the referee for each phone? did you activate both phones at the same time, and have customer service generate a referral code for each phone, and asked them to apply it to the other phone?

Both phones were activated a few days apart. After activation, you can request a referral code from SO immediately (there isn't any minimum airtime credit required).

After getting a referral code for each phone, I applied a $100 voucher to phone #1. I then called SO customer service to apply the referral code from phone #2.

I then applied a $100 voucher to phone #2 and called SO customer service to apply the referral code from phone #1.

The total airtime credit on each phone is now $5 (initial phone credit) +$100 (voucher) +$25 (promo bonus) +$10 (referrer bonus) +$10 (referree bonus).

Yep, I did that when I bought my 2 speakout phones as well.

Oh, and btw, you don't NEED 25$ to apply the code, they tell you do, but you don't actually. For 1 of the phones I met a nice CSR and he just asked for the code, I gave it to him, and then I had 15$ (5$ initial + 10$ referral)
