If you are topping up, it implies you have a phone with an active sim already. The top up immediately goes toward your existing sim account. What can you do with the new sim? I can see few reasons for it, perhaps to start an account for a family member or a second spare phone for yourself. Is there a way to use the new sim in another phone but have it use the same phone number as your original sim and access the same funds? I could see a use for two phones accessing the same account, but maintaining two disparate phone numbers and funding two accounts, no.
