I've been using mine for 1 year now, including about a dozen calls between Toronto and LD parts of Hamilton, Niagara region & York region and have not incurred any LD charges so far.

However I;ve been on the $20/200 and $25/300 monthly plans so it is my understanding those include Canada-wide calling. Either way LD hasn;t been an issue and the local calling area seems to be extremely generous in Southern Ontario/

From the home page:
====
Note that Speak Out Wireless is unique in that calls within your area code are all local (even if you have an area code that is split across a large distance), in addition to some normal cross-area codes that would be considered local. For example:
604 can call 604 & 778 locally
250 can call 250 & 778 locally
778 can call all of BC locally: 778, 250 & 604
416/647, 905/289, 519/226 are all local to each other
====
You can make calls from anywhere that has coverage. Depending where your are CALLING TO will determine if it is local or not. Doesn't matter where you are.

I don't believe you can get multiple phone numbers on your SO line. You could get a Toronto number, then any calls you make to 416 would be local from Belleville. But, calls to Belleville would be long distance.

... am thinking of signing up for the 7-11 service, but have a question I did not see the answer for yet:

Once I get a phone number assigned, I understand I can make local calls within that area. Does it mean "LOCAL" calls can only be made within THAT area, and the moment I go to another area outside my own location, I can not make local calls in that area?

Other question: I live in Belleville, Ont. but have a Toronto exchange (416) on my landline. Could I get a Toronto exchange for the Cell too? (7-11)
Thanks, Nappo
