You have 90 days to activate the voucher. There is no point in adding it to your phone until you actually need it. The phone comes with a $5 starter credit that you can activate by checking your balance (free call to 611). That ensures your number won't expire, then just add the voucher when your initial credit is running low in a few weeks.

But if you don't see any hitches, then I'll go ahead and activate it.

I think it's 90 days.

See what it says on the voucher.

But honestly, why not add it to the phone now? That way you don't have to worry about losing it, or the number fading away. Stretching the expiry date for a $25 card for an extra 3 months isn't going to make that much of a difference, unless you don't use the phone AT ALL.

Hey gang,

Just bought an SO phone and a $25 top-up voucher.
I haven't activated it yet, because I still paid for next month's fee on my current phone.

I'm planning on activating the SO phone in mid-June.

My question is:
-How long do you have to activate the top-up denomination when you purchase it?

-Ray
