The credit was for phones that are already activated.... We got the credit applied for all three phones we have within five days of completing the survey.

On the downside - My son managed to lose his free phone with the newly applied credit just hours after it was applied! ( Good thing I was waiting to apply the $100 airtime !) And just the day after the free phone promotion ended......

I suspect the questions fell afoul of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Collection of personal information about ethnicity, income, and age is subject to a variety of restrictions. I don't remember seeing anything in the survey that outlines how the company intends to use the information they collected, nor is it discussed in their privacy link on the main page.

In other words, someone really screwed up.
