<p>If you are checking your email when wifi is <strong>not</strong> available, then yes, you need the $10 browsing add-on.</p>
<p>A thing to note is that the $10 browsing only allows TCP port 80 and 443. If you are connected to your email server using IMAP for example, then it will not work. So it would work if you are checking email using a web browser or using email app that connects to port 80 (e.g connecting to Microsoft Exchange).</p>
