true with speakout offering data (web, etc) would be good for some however as iamdrumming pointed out other things tend to go and my guess would be the 365 day expiry cards which im surprised hasnt happend yet since petro-canada did it back in march

If Speak Out does offer data, that's fine, as long as they continue to offer the 365 day expiry on any amount of top-up.

I have found in the past that when no frills companies like Speak Out start offering things like data, other things are let go.

Update : I inquired and e-mailed a speakout rep. Here's the response:

We are working very closely with our provider to do just that, as our users have said they want it.

We are planning on a live test of the program in the latter part of this year and if successful we will launch a plan by year end.

When I was with PC Mobile I got their "data plan", which was unlimited WAP (ie slow) browsing for $5 a month. It was pretty good for gmail, which is all I used it for. I can't say I would get it again as my ipod touch does an amazing job when connected to various hotspots around town.
