I was with PC mobile for a few years before 7-11. What I didn't like was their phones. When I first went with them they had a candybar Nokia which was amazing. After that it was crap phone after crap phone that just broke after a few months. Nokia phones are amazing and that's what 7-11 sells and so that's who I will go with. THe basic service is essentially equal. PC mobile requires a minimum of $15 a month or $25 for two. With 7-11 the 365 a day expiry is great for me because I only have to top up every 10 months.

My dad used to be with President's Choice. I almost went with them too, long before I found out about SpeakOut Wireless.

As Bridonca, stated, a major turn off with PC Mobile, is that they only have 2 top-up options. $15 lasts 30 days, and $25 lasts 60 days. To me, that's garbage. You would have to top-up at least 6 times a year. With SpeakOut, you top-up once a year.

As I said in other posts, you can't just compare prices, although it's a start. You have to see the whole picture, especially the network each MVNO uses.

IMHO, and especially where I live and have traveled, the Rogers network (which SpeakOut uses) is GREATLY superior to the Bell network (which President's Choice uses).

Speakout is a GSM based phone that uses the Roger's network, President's Choice is a CDMA based phone that uses the Bell/Telus network.

To get 20 cents a minute from speak out, you need to buy the $50 or $100 card. It is 25 cents a minute on the $25 card. All current speak out cards have a 1 year expiry. The $15 card is garbage and phased out. President's Choice $25 card expire after 60 days, and the $15 is as lousy as the speak out $15 card.

Speak out charges a monthly 99 cent SAF fee, while President's Choice charges around 43 cents. Considering 911 fees are actually 13 cents, these are nothing more than a gouge to the customer.
