I do not think Speakout accepts texts coming anywhere than from Canada and maybe the US. My Google Voice texts to my Speakout number can be iffy.

strange. I have no problem texting with google voice(was using the 2500/month package). It was the google side that one day block me for a day saying it hits the send limit
And I have no problem as well sending/receiving to my roaming asian number.

I am not saying it does not work, but I have had flaky experiences with Speakout SMS from other countries. Your mileage will vary, of course.

I did experience flaky SMS when the sender is not a cell but say some SMS service. Like I tried to setup yahoo's email alert or something and it never worked.

I have reliably send text messages to my girlfiend's Speakout phone from Mexico, France, Turkey and Ethiopia.
