My monthly airtime usage has outgrown 95 minutes / month threshold. I am considering moving to Virgin Mobile ($20/mth for 200 minutes pre-paid plan)
When porting of my 7-11 cell # completes, the 7-11 phone will have no telephone number assign to it… I would like to be able to use 7-11 phone … will SpeakOut customer service be able to assign different telephone number? Is there a charge for this?

You will have to call SO and ask.
(My guess is that they will be happy to assign a new number to your old SO SIM however you will have lost any airtime balance when you ported your old number to Virgin.)

Why not go with a GSM service provider instead of Virgin Wireless if you really want to keep using your GSM phone?
DCI Telecom has good rates. For $20 you can get 250 minutes/month (but you have to pay extra for voicemail and call display).

wow, how come I never heard about DCI telecom. They have REALLY good rates compared with the big companies. I mean their plans value at 10c/min or less.
Is this a new company? I wish I knew about them before going to Fido 2.5 years ago.
Forgot to ask if they are Canada wide available?
