My daughter's phone suddenly could not get service (no signal bars) in our locality, while my phone continued to work. I took the battery out, unhooked the SIM card (but didn't remove it), put it back together again and the service was excellent. Coincidence?

Well, the same thing happened to my phone a few days later. I tried the same fix, and not only got the signal back but it is stronger than ever! The most signal I ever had in our yard before was 2 bars and now I've got 5!

Anyone know if the antenna is somehow related to the batter connector, battery cover or something like that? I'm thinking some contacts got dirty. I may try contact cleaner spray next time.
