Just want to double confirm.
I have an unlock 3-band cell phone. I want to buy a new fido sim card from someone else (since it's hard to get a SO sim card). Should I do the followings steps:

1. activate sim card first via fido?
2. is there any activated fee?
3. then ask 7-11 to port the number from fido
4. buy voucher to fill the minutes

Thank for anyone providing information.

A Fido SIM will only work on Fido, not SO. You cannot port a SIM from one carrier to another. If you want service on SO then you need to get a SO SIM.

Once you have a SO SIM you can port your Fido (or any other) phone number to that SIM.

That's the only way you can get SO service.
