We had a discussion a while back about mobile phone basics.

https://www.speakoutwireless.ca/speak/technical.../more-basic-questions/

I asked several questions.
One question I asked was, if you call someone and their phone is turned off, will they get a notification that they missed a call when they turn their phone on?

I was told it wasn't possible.

I just got back from a trip to Eastern Europe.
I used SIM cards in several countries there and I always received notifications of missed calls (date and time) when I turned my phone back on.

Is this something that is unique to Europe or is this now available in North America?

It's not available to SpeakOut, or T-Mobile when I'm in the USA. Every carrier is different of course, and vastly different when it come to comparing Europe to North America wireless systems. I have never heard of it in North America.

Were you aware that they have it in Europe?
I think it's great.

No, I wasn't aware that it was available in Europe, as well I've never been there

It can be a good feature, but not a biggie for me. If someone calls my phone while it's off, they can always leave a message.
