it worked for me (twice), but enough so i can recieve from msn to sms service

Maybe it depends on the particular short code you are trying to use. I tried 898882 (for streetcar schedules in Toronto) and it worked exactly once, when I was standing at a particular streetcar stop. I tried the same thing at other locations and it never worked again.
