Hello,

I never used a prepaid sim card before.

I am going to the Chicago late in July and I will need a US # while I am there.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 unlocked and is ready to use.

My question is I don't know what to do after I get the prepaid SIM card?

I don't need much minutes while I am there (approx. 2-4hrs talk time).

Can someone please point me to the right direction?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Your best bet would be to go to a mass retailer like Wal-Mart or Target as soon as you get there. You'll be able to get a prepaid starter pack from providers like T-Mobile or AT & T. They usually cost around $20, or cheaper, and come with a phone and sim. The package will have a walk-through on how to activate it.

I have 2 Sim cards from t-mobile,one is brand new and the second is with assigned Chicago phone number,you just need to buy a voucher $10,15,25,50 from any gas station,7/11,convenience store……or you can recharge it with credit or debit card,both of them work on your blackberry and it,s gonna cost you 10c per minute anywhere in US for a call or sms.So if you r interested give me a shout,also i can swap it for a SO Sim card cause i just moved to Toronto and like you i have a blackberry and need only the Sim…..cheers!
