Paying money for a SIM card with no airtime on it, and thinking you got a good deal, is a Canadian phenomenon!

Anyone know if this deal is still on? Seems like now, its 19.99 for the phone and sim only.

Looks like they changed the deal to $20 for the phone and SIM only. They probably realized they were losing too much money in the previous deal.

However, be aware that the deal is for T-Mobile service in the US. Not sure if they ship to Canada, and I'm pretty sure you will not be getting a Canadian number. And you will have to read the fine print to see if the phone service will work in Canada (if that's what you're looking for). Also, I'm pretty sure that the phone will be locked to the T-Mobile service.

Yes, I realize all of the above. I posted that offer just to show how much better the deals are even in the US — not exactly the cheapest place for cellphone service.

That said, a $25 T-Mobile voucher gets you 130 minutes of airtime with no LD charges within all 50 states. For $100 airtime drops to 10¢/min, again throughout the US, and lasts up to a year.

And yes, you can roam in Canada for 69¢/min. Not a great deal but at least you can do it in a pinch (or emergency.) By contrast a Canadian SO SIM is useless south of the border.

As for the T-Mobile phone being locked, it didn't really matter with the deal I posted because you could just use that SIM with any SO unlocked phone, i.e. you could add US coverage without needing to carry two phones.

P.S. The "free" $25 airtime was a temporary deal that's apparently now expired.

Anyone know where to get a US SIM card on T-Mobile while still in Canada? I'm planning a trip to the States and would love to have a couple of these SIMs to throw into my phone (and my wife's) before I cross the border.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to ship to Canada.

How about just after you cross the border? Try General Delivery to a US post office near your border crossing.

Depending on where…there are services like Package Express in Sumas WA…Bettas Services in Oroville WA….That being said I found sim cards for T-mobile for next to nothing 7.99+1.99 shipping on Ebay and they shipped to Canada. For that price they had a deal where there was $30 added to the card over 3 months!!!!!!My wife's card just had $20 instantly added to it rather than the $30(different source).

Ebay right now with buy it now 100% positive seller under $17 free shipping get a card.

The SO Nokia 2760 work great with the SIMS

Try mrsimcard (google). Worked for me
