I finally did it...

I had my Virgin Mobile phone, and my Speakout phone, which I picked up during the August promotion. I had a considerable balance on my Virgin phone, so I let it dwindle down. It was just over $9, and I called Speakout CS yesterday to port my number. It was finally ported over this morning at 10:30, and I received a text message saying so.

The Speakout number that was attached to the phone was easy to remember, but I had my old number since the days of Clearnet. So, I am finally free
Thank God. Not only is Speakout the better deal, the coverage blows Bell out of the water. I have been all over southern Ontario, and my Virgin phone (which uses Bells network) was always struggling to get a signal, and was at maybe 2-3 bars out of 7. My Speakout phone always had lots of bars, even around the little towns.

So goodbye Virgin Mobile, goodbye!

Good news - I'm also currently on Virgin. I'm letting my $40 dwindle down. Having to buy $25 so the time can last 2 months sucks. I used to buy the $10 or 15 (can't remember) that would last a while but they changed the rules and here I am, with over $40 I'll never use:(

I'll also be porting as the new number assigned to my new phone is a 226 area code and I kind of am used to the old number by now (and it's in everyones' phone book :). Glad it worked out for you.

Thanks!!

Speak Out is SO much better than Virgin. Not even to mention the 1 year top-ups that Speak Out has, the coverage is WAY better than Virgin/Bell. The local calling area is alot better as well. I was up in Port Elgin and Sauble Beach last summer, and made calls back to Niagara Falls, and they were local calls!

I'm glad you are on board with Speak Out as well
