I have had a moto g for a year. No problems with pay as I gfo. Switched to a data plan. Can t get data.I read on the speak out site of the settings that need to be changed? Can t find anywhere to change these. It asked me to select a provider. It searched and spaekout was an option I selected. Still nothing. Is there a speak out custermer service number I can call? Thanks.

Have you turned on data on the phone? Here's how it's done.

Use your finger to pull down the menu on your home screen. (Drag your finger from top to bottom). Do it a second time. A bunch of icons, such as wifi and bluetooth will appear.

Data won't function if wifi is on and working, so tap the wifi symbol which will turn off the wifi.

Press the phone signal triangle called 'Speakout'. Up at the top of the screen, you will see a switch called 'Cellular Data'. Turn it on.

Now turn your phone off and start it up again. With any luck, your phone will automatically connect to data. You will see 'H+' at the top of of your main screen if you are connected.

If not, report back here. More changes will have to be made (creating an APN manually).

Thanks for the help so far. I tried your double swip. It turns out data was switched on. My trouble is I am travelling . So I have to get to a mecdonalds and get wifi for my tablet. I signed up for data just for this!
So when I go to settings I don t see the apn settings anywhere. I have the latest update.
Here is what I see. I go to more. Second from bottom is cellular networks. Above that is vpn. So I select cellular network. Data roaming is on. Show mobile network is on. Preferred network is 3G. Access point names shows nothing. I selected network operators. After the wheel spins for a long time I get speakout and 2 Rogers networks. None of the Rogers networks are the one that is suggested on previous posts in this forum. So I select speakout. It says I am registered to speakout. Speakout is still in the top left corner as usual. No h+. No Chrome or data access. Frustrated because I am in an area of the country I do not know and I wanted data just for this. I am around Hamilton. My triangle has an exclamation mark in it. Good texting and phone calls.
Thanks is drumming for the phone number. As I understand it they just say it is your problem and your phone.

I hope it works out for you. If you bought your phone from SpeakOut, they support their phones and will help you with it.

Phone will not let me connect tomrogers.there is no apn setting option. can t tether either. Speak out is the only network that allows me to select. Then it says connected to spekout.. After searching 2 Rogers networks come up. After selecting these it says not available.

Here's how to set up the APN. Go to Settings. In 'Wireless & Networks', select 'More'. Select 'Cellular Networks'. Then 'Access point names'. At the top of your screen, there should be a + sign in a circle (for adding an APN). Press it.

Dennismiller gave a list of the settings to enter. However, there is an even simpler way. Under 'Name', write 'Speakout'. Under APN, write 'internet.com'. Press the 3 vertical dots and select 'Save'. Don't forget to make sure you have turned on the radio button for the new Speakout APN.

Turn your data off when you are not needing it (see my previous post regarding the double swype.) Otherwise, you will chew through your meager 100mb allowance in no time.!
