Hi everyone,

I've been on the Speakout pre-paid with a very old unlocked Nokia phone for many years and now am looking into upgrading to a smartphone.

The S3 mini is what I'm looking to purchase at Amazon.com.

From what I've gathered on this forum, it should work with Speakout's $10/month data plan. But since I'm not super technical, I wanted to check in with you first. And would I need a new SIM card for this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would think that this phone would work fine, assuming it's unlocked. All you have to do is pop in your new chip and order the data add-on.

If you are lucky, by turning off wifi, then turning on data and then rebooting the phone, the apn settings will be created automatically. (You will know by whether the data connects or not.)

Otherwise, you will have to manually enter the apn settings.

The Samsung uses a mini SIM card. I'm not sure what kind of model your older Nokia is, but it might use the regular size SIM card. You will have to trim it, or see if you can order a mini SIM from SpeakOut.
