I've been using my SO sim in one of my Rogers flip phones – worked great. Because of this success, I got myself a new (but still locked to rogers) Nokia 6790 Surge phone. The phone works great with the SO sim, places calls, sends/receives txts, etc BUT when I dial *777 or *888 from says "Unfortunately, we cannot complete your call as dialed". It did work a few times from Surge, but now right now, and it does work if I put the sim back in the old rogers flip phone…

Any ideas?

Can you configure the Nokia 6790 as 2G only? I have seen other posts having issues like that, and it was because the phone was doing these calls on the 3G network, which Speakout is not really that good at using.

Thanks for the reply and yeah, that was my conclusion also: *777 etc doesn't work when connected to 3G, but works fine from the Surge when connected via 2G.

I can't seem to find out how to disable the 3G in the Surge, but I guess I can always just run my work's parkade (2G only signal) to do these calls. It's better than having to swap sims :)
