I have the $10 month data plan and need help in setting up whatsapp and gmail (exchange)
Both work fine with wi-fi but not when I am away from wifi zone.
Can someone please advise me which settings I should use on the iPhone?
Thanks in advance

I believe you need to first delete the old APN used previously for UMB (Settings -> General -> Profile ). Then give the iphone a hard reset.

On a different note, Gmail setup as exchange will easily consume 1 - 2 MB of cellular data in a day just for push notifications. That will really eat into you 100 MB. Ptroblem is iphones will still use cellular data for push notifications whether you are on wifi or not. You might want to consider changing mail from push to fetch. Alternatively, I use the gmail app on my 4s and it consumes like 100 - 200 kb per day for push notifications.

Many thanks for yor reply. It does seem quite cumbersome to setup gmail via exchange and app so I will stick around with good old http gmail dotcom. It is not such a big thing anyways.
I would love to get whatsapp working though and wont mind using proxy for it but dont want to install proxy for everything else too.

luking, did the cellular data work after deleting the APN and resetting the phone?

Using the browser to access gmail.com is ok. Just becareful when you are doign that over cellular data. Speaking from my own experience, using a browser (I used both Chrome and safari) consumes a lot of data just checking emails. You will be much better off using the built-in app, or better still the gmail app.

I didnt delete the apn, browser based email checking once or twice a day is more than enough for me. I will now use whatsapp from wifi ecause imight have to leave SO soon anyways due to UMB nolonger being available.
