Lately I've been having an issue with my phone. It seems like whenever I try calling 611 or *777, the call never goes through. When I try to call it, it tells me that "unfortunately your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and try again". Does anybody know why this is happening and how I can fix it? This only happens when I try calling 611 or *777, it works perfectly if I'm calling any other number or phone. I need to call 611 to get the texting bundle…

Thanks!

I am currently having the same issue and came here to look for an answer as well.

Which phone are you using?

I'm using an Xperia X10 and I can send and receive calls, but it's doing exactly what you describe (happens with *666,*777,*888), but if I put the sim back into the Nokia 1661, everything works normally as it should.

I'm using an LG Shine (CU720), it's a Rogers phone, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not…hopefully they get this fixed… I want my texting plan…lol

Not really familiar with these phones, but some people have had issues contacting those numbers via 3G. If you have the option of disabling 3G (if your phone even has it?) try it.

Hi I have found that dialing *611 while connected to 3G actually dials 611 and fails on my Nokia N95. Something from the old Rogers settings must truncate the number.

However if I use the *611 contact I created on my SO SIM card it works.

If all else fails, put your SIM in the 1661 and save *611, *777, and *888 as contacts on your SIM, then try accessing those contacts from your SIM card while it is in your other phone.

Thank you very much for your help! I switched it from 3G to the 2G Network and it worked perfectly! Thanks again, cheers!
