Magicjack app works on Iphone 3gs only in wifi but not in SO, It errors with a Network Connection Failure [error 3]. I know it works with other carriers. Any ideas why?

Probably because Rogers crippled it. They cripple lots of things, as to what SpeakOut users can do or not do on their network.

Is there a way around this?

No, not if Rogers crippled it. It won't be accessible using a SpeakOut sim. You'll find many apps are like that.

I wouldn't say that they cripple "many apps". The specifically cripple voip and IM some IM apps. Everything else tends to work fine.

it doesn't even have anything to do with cripple. The nature of a proxy is it can only handle http/https. anything that is not straight http/https(i.e. 80/443) is unlikely to work.

No, Rogers crippled VOIP. Even if you use Skype, which can be made to work through a HTTP(S) proxy, it won't work.

Skype via proxy ? first time I heard.

As for roger's crippled VOIP, all I can say is depending on you do it.

stand corrected. didn't know it can. thanks for the education.

edit:
further reading suggest that skype need CONNECT method for the proxy which for most http proxy is not enabled by default.
