When there's text inside an image, it's often pixelated to the point of being illegible.

Just wondering if anyone been able to find a way around this. Thanks.

It's all up the phone's native resolution. If text inside an image is pixelated, try to get a higher resolution of the image, otherwise the phone's display won't be able to display it properly.

That is not entirely accurate. I have seen this issue on an iphone 3gs for some images. Using Opera Mini to view it usually will improve the resolution. I think this is because of how Opera's servers compress the image.

When I switch to wifi, the problem disappears. For instance, in 3G, images in the app store are pixalated, but once I switch to wifi, it's better again. Same goes for other pages, so I think it probably has to do with the proxy.

Yup, I have the same issue. Give Opera a try.

That's fine. The original post never mentioned what phone was being used, or even if they were using a browser/application.

Another workaround is to use https instead of http if you have the option. The proxy cannot compress encrypted web pages.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did a quick check using a news website, and the Opera browser really does make images much more viewable!
