Hello everyone,
I've added the new SO data plan and my internet is working fine on my phone, galaxy S2.
However, when i tried to tether it, my vaio laptop connected to the hotspot fine but it wasn't able to load the webpages.
I've tried both APN settings and got data on my phone but unable to tether:

1. APN setting similar to SO website except the MMS proxy
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
APN Type: Default
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4/IPv6

2. APN setting that i found on this website:
APN: internet.com
Password: wap
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN Type: default,supl

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong so can somebody help me to tether the SO data please?
Thank you in advance!

I have a simple set up with internet.com and I don't believe any other settings, no pw etc.Just the 302 and 720 I tested tethering the other day and worked fine. Quit after 10 mb. Didn't want to waste the 100 gb experimenting.

Thank you for your help!
I've tried your method and still didn't work for me.
I just put internet.com for apn, and 302 & 720. The rest i just left blank.
My phone got the data just fine. My laptop connected to the hotspot and the wireless signal showed that the connection was fine. However, when i tried to open webpages, it wouldn't load.

This is getting so frustrating because sometimes i want to tether my phone data and surf on the web with a bigger screen on my laptop.

Question: did you do any special settings on your laptop?
Thanks again for your reply!

I don't know what to add. Just had car trouble yesterday. Fired up the phone hotspot, the Blackberry Playbook, looked up a service business got towed in and was on my way in a few hours. Worked well. Can you try something besides the laptop?

You have set up tethering on the phone???

Probably, since you connect to the hotspot, but have to ask.
