Is it possible to set up Gmail in the iPhone so that I am notified of incomng mail.

I have set up my Gmail account in Mail but it will only work in WIFI

I have no idea what the settings on the IPhone are, but on my PC, I also had to configure the SSL the same as HTTP. with the same port 80. A lot apps do not like that, they prefer port 443, but Gmail is OK with it. Speakout/Rogers only does port 80 for some retarded reason.

has anyone had any luck setting up a gmail client for symbian S60 phones (eg, Nokia E71) that works with the Speakout data plan? or is it impossible to access gmail via port 80? i can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere on this…
