Hey all,

Just thought I'd post this since I've gotten so much great information from this site. I bought an LG Gossip phone from a Fido kiosk at the mall to use with my wife's Speakout mobile service. I was prepared to go online and get an unlock code for it, but I thought I'd try it with her SIM card before that, just in case. Lo and behold, it worked, no unlock needed!

I don't know, maybe Fido is getting phones that are locked in the same way as Rogers phones are so that Speakout SIMs work in them? Anyway, thought it was cool and that I'd share in case anyone else was looking at that phone. $90+tax for the phone by itself.

Wow, maybe it is going to be a trend, I hear the Rogers Nokia C3 works with FIDO also. It would be interesting to see if the Chatr phones and sims are now interchangable with FIDO and Roger, and Ztar phones?

Sorry about reviving this old topic, but I was just curious if there are any other locked Fido phones that work with a SpeakOut SIM card.
Like the new Nokia C1 for example and the old "MOTO 388 Renew+" that they are still selling at Walmart. Do those work with SpeakOut Wireless?

I already know that the Motorola W233 Renew doesn't work with SpeakOut already, but I'm curious if other phones will work since the first post in this topic states that the LG Gossip works without unlocking.

i suspect the newer FIDO phones that came out this year, will work with Speakout. I have no way of confirming this though, since I own no FIDO phones.
