Hi all,
I'm looking for a sim card for a gsm phone, and i'm wondering if I bought a rogers prepaid card like ones found here, http://shop.ebay.ca/items/__si…..ec0Q2em283
would i be able to switch it over to speakeasy? or would it be tied to rogers only?
Thanks!!

SIMs are tied to a particular carrier so no, you can't switch a Rogers SIM to work with SpeakOut.

well then, looks like I'm in the market for one then, anybody have one to sell?
I'm in Ottawa.
On more question, can a speakout SIM card be used with the Petro Canada prepaid?
thanks for the reply!

Like bylo said, each SIM is tied to a particular carrier.
Fido SIM — Fido service
Rogers SIM — Rogers service
Speak Out SIM — Speak Out service
Petro Canada SIM — Petro Canada service
… and so on.

Ok, thanks.
I though petro canada and speakout were the same company though… guess this doesn't matter?

Correct. They might share some customer service reps, and they might both lease bandwidth from Rogers, but in the SIM card world, they are distinctly separate. In fact, for most purposes it's best to just think of every wireless service provider brand as separate.
