Hi, I'm thinking of getting PetroCan phone, I read somewhere though that they charge your for checking your voice mail, even if you're checking from a landline and you're also charged airtime if someone is leaving you a voice message. Is this true?

Thanks,

Wayne

"Note: Airtime charges apply only when leaving or checking messages using your Petro-Canada Mobility phone. No charges will apply when leaving or checking messages using another phone. "

does this mean that if we use another phone rather than PCM phone, then we can check the voicemail for free?

I do not think so.

I you use any phone that has a PCM (SO) SIM in it then you will be charged airtime. If you use a landline you won't. If you use another carrier's cellphone it depends on the plan the phone is on.

If that is so, then why would it say "when leaving… …messages". It sounds like when someone calls and leaves you a message, you will pay airtime for that message.

No, you are not charged simply when someone leaves you a voicemail. You are charged though when you access your voicemail through your cell phone.
