I've looked through this forum and Petro-Canada's website but can't find any information about the ability to call other counties other than the USA.
Does anyone know where I can find any info on this?

According to SpeakOut you can call outside NA, however, the rates vary by country and they're not published. You'd have to call SO CS to ask about the countries you're interested in.

I expect the rates to be quite high. If you intend to do a lot of overseas LD then you'd be better off to use something like YakCell.

bylo is right about getting a separate long distance plan like YakCell if you plan on calling long distance a lot.

If you are only planning on calling long distance very little, go to a convenience store and pick up a long distance calling card (find a store full of those long distance calling card posters covering their windows). Sure, you'll have to spend $5 to get the card (but will have the potential to use it numerous times), but calling long distance with Speakout would probably end up costing you at least $5 for a short call.
