I am visiting Russia (Moscow & St. Petersberg) next year.
Anyone know of whether there is prepaid SIM available there and how much?
What kind of phone?
Thanks

You could google it to see what phones/GSM providers are available in Russia. Probably have better luck googling than here.

First of all, you'll need an unlocked quad band handset (triband might work, too).
Here's a good primer on GSM in Russia: http://www.waytorussia.net/Pra…..obile.html
MTS and Beeline are the most widely in use in the country. I used MTS there. Kiosks on almost every street corner will sell you a start-up kit.

Oh, and both MTS and Beeline have English web sites, which is excellent when refilling.

Click on the Subscribers tab. Granted, you can't do much until you buy a SIM card startup kit once you get there.
