I would like to purchase a Speak Out phone but I'm looking for internet access on occasionally too.

Can anyone suggest a cell phone provider?

Speakout doesn't offer mobile internet access, and as far as I know none of the prepaid cellular companies offer it either.

If you want mobile internet access you'll probably have to sign up for a plan with one of the big 3.

You can surf on Telus PAYG. There's a charge per page (I can't remember how much it was and I can't find it on the website) or you can also buy unlimited web with them. For more info, click here

think speakout is planning to get data

That's hardly a done deal and even if it is, it's several months away. Besides we don't know how much they'll charge for it. So for the time being, only the big-3 offer data.

So if I get a half-price Nokia 5130 XpressMusic now, I can get an unlocked Android Magic / iPhone GS next year, when the price has perhaps come down-- and move my SIM over to it. And I could keep the Nokia for my GF's summer use, if I just buy her a SIM chip from the board on this site. This makes sense. Hopehe data plan sees follow-through.
