Hi,

Is there any update on Nokia 2720, like if it is available on any of the 711 store across GTA ?

I was initially by askspeakout that Dec. 5th was the date it was going to be released. I got a call from my local 7-11 manager that they were advised the new date would Dec. 11.

I was told the same today (or rather, to check back at the end of the week).

Earlier this week I asked a sales clerk at the location just north of Yonge/College about the 2720. SHe said it was supposed to have arrived Fri, Dec 4, but there was a delay and now it was supposed to arrive Fri, Dec 11.

Today I asked a manager at that same store about it, and he said there have been "problems" with that model of phone, which delayed its release so those problems could be fixed. (That sounds kind of ominous for the 2720.) The manager said he expected it to be available "in a couple of weeks," and "before Christmas … hopefully." FWIW.

So what is the likelihood of them extending the $100 airtime $59 off a phone promo just for that particular one?

I think I might just end up getting the free phone and buying the unlocked (original) razr off a friend of mine. Only because it has a camera, as would get more use of that aspect then the phone itself :)

I picked up my 2720 this afternoon, at the Yonge/Grenville location, just north of Yonge/College.

Just want to share information that they have Nokia 2720 at 1 Eglinton Ave. They don't have any at the Bathurst store.

So far, I think the phone is awesome. But then, I've never had a cell before, so I don't really have a basis for comparison. Call quality seems fine. It can store (I think) 250 SMS messages, which is cool. Haven't figured out how to add my own ringtones (if that's even possible). There is no official or unofficial plugin that allows iSync (Mac) to recognize it, so I guess I'm stuck with manually entering contact info. No flash goes off when I take a picture, so nighttime pics were rather dark.

The manual (PDF) is here:

http://www.nokiausa.com/get-su…..old/guides

It looks really cool overall. A bit of black electrical tape to cover up the Nokia logos and "1.3 megapixels" tag, and it will look even cooler. The keypad looks a little 'cheap,' but it's fine to use.

Hmm, this is probably the wrong section of the forum for this review… ah well… Smile

I picked up mine at Seymour and Dunsmuir. Before that, I phoned the one at 651 Robson St. and they had 6 in store (at the time I phoned).

Hi,

So what's the purchase price when you get the 2720 with the $100 voucher? I'm guessing you get a $59 towards the cost of the phone so it's $100+40 (since the phone's listed as $99) + tax… am I right?

correct, 140+tax
for the 2720 phone incl 130$ airtime (20$ preset, 100$ purchased, 10$ referral)
