I went to a 7-11 on Dunsmuir/Seymour in Vancouver today to inquire about phones. I was this close to making a purchase and when I mentioned "bonus referral code" the clerk (obviously a junior) didn't know what I was talking about. He told me the manager wasn't in until tomorrow, so I guess I'll have to wait. So now I have time to debate for the umpteenth time which model I should buy! 2720 vs 2760.
Comments anyone?

Hi the referral code has nothing to do with the store.
Read the first post here: http://www.speakoutwireless.ca…..-requests/ or check out the 7-11 site for more information.
A referral code has to be requested by someone who has a SpeakOut phone already. It will be active for 15 days after they get it. They give you the code and you apply the code by calling SO Customer Service.
The forum link above tells you how to get a code using this forum.

Once the phone is sold its up to you to call SP CSR for Ref code.
This only applies for new activation and Min $25 time vouchers.
The cares less about the code.

Thanks for clearing that up RonM — I've been posting here on the fly. I was given a referral code a while back but not sure if it's expired. I pm'd the person today who previously gave it to me and haven't heard back yet.
thx for the link – will read it through carefully!
