I just topped up $100 and was offered my choice of free sim card or micro-sim card. I have no idea what I can use an extra card for. I also know nothing about the dif between the 2 types of cards so I chose the sim. Of course my phone came with a sim card so what can I do with this extra card?

You can sell it if you want. Micro sims are good for the latest iPhones.

Micro sims are used in Iphone 4/4s. Nano sims (not available thru Speakout) are used in Iphone 5. You would have to cut the micro sim down to a nano sim size to use it in a iphone 5.
