Hi everybody,

I emailed SpeakOut and asked when specifically the new Nokia is expected to arrive in December. This is their response:

"Due to a shortage of parts Nokia is shipping late. We are estimating it
will be in stores by December 5th. Stores will put up signage when they
receive their inventory.
Askspeakout"

Thanks for the info. I am interested in the Nokia 2720, and look forward to these phones arriving in stores around the Dec 5th date. I do want to take advantage of the $59 credit towards a new phone, so the earlier they arrive in stores the better.

i saw a display model while i was picking up a SO phone for my dad

IMHO it's a decent looking phone but at $99 the 5130 is a much better phone for the extra $40 (unless you really like flip phones)

the major advantages of the 5130 over 2720

3.5mm headphone jack
expandable memory via mico SD card

Interestingly, the description for this phone lists it as having an MP3 player and ear buds, but on the grid (on the official speakout site) MP3 player is not checked off as being one of it's features.

Seems like petro canada has 2720 as well. It mentions "MP3 player with up to 4 GB of expandable memory"?

Then again, I think they also have the resolution for the camera wrong as well :)

I called my local 711 store ( Oakville,Ont ) yesterday,and the manager said the 2720 had been recalled,and he didn't know the re-release date….did some else say it was now Dec 10th???

When a spoke with a 7-11 manager weeks ago, he said that they date has changed a few times already. So he didn't want to specify any further arrival dates. I guess just keep phoning back or stopping by once a week.
