usually that type of promotion happens in late fall. I am not in the loop on those sort of things. Though I am doubtful there will be any back to school special.

Speaking of free phone promotions…
I have seen a few recent posts in the Phone Exchange forum where sellers are selling new Nokia phones and SO SIMs for around $35.
How is this possible when SO is selling them for $59?
I know there is such a thing as taking a loss, but this seems quite different from that.

Because there is a free phone promotion on. Buy a $100 voucher and get a free 1661. Sell the phone for $35 and you've just go $35 in free air time.

Don't think it has been advertised yet, but several members have already taken advantage of it. Unfortunately, not many stores seem to have the 1661 in stock.

I received a free 1661 phone just 2 days ago after purchasing $100 of airtime. The guy in the 711 store told me that very soon the promotion would be extended, to allow the sale of any Speakout phone at $60 off, with the purchase of the same amount of airtime.
